The Race

If you asked most people who've known me: "How would you describe Charles Georgi?" Most would probably say: "He's one of the most competitive people I've met."

.......

I'm done with competition.  I surrender...

I wrote this poem last night:

The Race

When my race is run,
and young ones hear my story
from my sons---
I don't want vast achievements read..
How Charles won
at any cost.
No, but let my life instead
be offered up for Heaven's glory!
All to Jesus!  All for Him!
All to lose so they can win.
When my life is done, begin:
"how Charles ran and won
the lost."

Wisdom is the principal thing

"Happy is the man who finds wisdom.....and the man who gains understanding.."

Praying God gives me wisdom unlike anything I've experienced before. :)  Apparently, it is the principal thing.

One piece of wood

What creation, I ask you, is more powerful than the human heart? Created in God’s image…..the human heart makes profoundly significant choices which can alter life on earth for all of mankind. A single choice made in the heart of just one man can lead to the death of millions of innocent people…..or cause the suffering and genocide of an entire generation of children. The heart of man can choose, and I cannot help but wonder just how-----powerful----- my choices really are. How powerful is the choice I make? If the heart of just one man can hate and kill so many…..I wonder how powerful the same could be if love were so fervently acted upon. No wonder Jesus turned the world upside down through such a small number of men. Whole-hearted men. Does God present choices to my own heart which are any less significant than what He gave to those twelve men? Are my choices…..less powerful than theirs?

God, give me grace to believe I’m a man after Your own heart, and move my heart to act like one.

My Legacy

I think, as of right now, that I'm known by most people as a man who would stop at nothing to win---to achieve----to accomplish whatever I set my mind to.....and this troubles me. When my life is done here, I believe I'd be sad if this was my first and most memorable legacy. I am struck to the heart by this----by this burning desire given to me by God----that by the time my heart stops beating, I would rather be known by most as a man who stopped at nothing to LOVE his fellow man. O that my wife...my children...my friends and acquaintances would say Charles Georgi LOVED others more than himself!....that he spent all he had to make others rich!....that he wanted to LOSE so that others would win. Let it be so, Lord. Apart from the grace you give....such an ambition could never be realized, but with You all things are possible.

New song, "Let Me In"

Let Me In

I see your face pushed on the floor. You snot-faced child of mine---
you should know I’m more in love with you than all the books and stories
you’ve heard all of your life.
I’m the One who kissed your face before you were even born.

O count the stars if you can! I made them all, and I made you too….
if you only knew what you mean to me.
Well, I want you to see

you’re wearing thin.
Please let your heart open,
and let me in.

I’ll take your sin.
Just let your heart open,
and let me in.

You’ve wondered if I’ve had enough: “What if God gives up on me,
and He runs out of love? What if I’m too far gone, and God is done?
I’ve squandered my life for mammon.
I wonder if He’d call me son. I’m so unworthy now….”

O but now, son, if you could see me….you’d see my legs run…
you’d see my heart jump….you’d feel my kiss on your face.
He’s home again! Home again!
I could never imagine Heaven without you here..
my greatest fear is you lost and gone.
I call you son.

Come home again.
Please let your heart open,
and let me in.

I’ll take your sin.
Just let your heart open,
and let me in.

Though you were dark, you would be like the morning star on fire.
Sweet child of mine, I love your heart. You’re always my desire.
I smile when I think of you…never depends on what you do.
Just let me in.
O, please let me in.

I see the tears stream down your face. You snot-faced child of mine---
you should know I’m crazy
about you.

Moses Braveheart Georgi

Moses Braveheart Georgi

My God has great compassion and is full of mercy toward those who fear Him…..who seek Him with their whole heart. He is gracious toward the humble, and His mercies are everlasting to those who love Him with their whole heart.
We’ve been given another boy, and oh, what a mighty warrior this son of mine will be. Just let me take a moment to praise God for His love and mercy toward us. Thank you, Lord, for making my descendants mighty and strong in the Kingdom of Your Love. The powers of darkness should TREMBLE at the thought of how God will use these boys of mine, and what is most comforting to me is…..

They can do nothing to stop it from happening.

And why? Because “he who the Son sets free is free indeed.” My God has delivered us from sin and death to live as FREE people! Free from ALL the powers of darkness! In Jesus Christ, we have been made FREE men and women who will never die. We will only sleep for a short while and then awaken unto eternal life------raised incorruptible and imperishable……..forever to live and be with Him who loved us. Amen.

Now, the meaning behind the name, “Moses Braveheart.”

I have so much to say about what God has said to me. First, let’s look at the name, Moses. Obviously, our son is named after the man whom God used to set His people free from Egyptian slavery, as it is written in the book of Exodus. Through Moses, God would show His awesome, miraculous wonders as a sign to the world that He was and is the One, True God. His motivation was clear: to set His people free from slavery……and this was done as a foreshadowing type of what he would do for all of mankind through His Son, Jesus. Yes, I know the first thing likely to come to mind when hearing the name, “Braveheart,” is the man, William Wallace…..of whom the story was told in the movie by that same name.

God has shown me how powerful this name is.

……and to explain it, I need only look at how Jesus lived and how He wants us to live. Jesus came to bring FREEDOM from slavery, and this freedom is not a physical one….as it was for Moses and for William Wallace. Jesus came to set us free from SIN----a spiritual bondage we were all born into and have no way of escaping without the FREEDOM Jesus has fought victoriously for us to attain. The Lord has made it possible for men and women everywhere to live with His Spirit…His KINGDOM….dwelling inside of them. The Word of God explains our purpose clearly in two statements:

Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, with all of your soul, with all of your mind, and with all of your strength.”

“and love your neighbor as yourself.”

Our purpose, as it was with Jesus, is to love our neighbor!....and we can only truly do this by giving the people around us the love and knowledge they need to be set FREE, as we have been set FREE. “The Kingdom of God is at hand!” My son’s name is Moses Braveheart because I believe God told me he will be a mighty warrior for the Kingdom of God…….being used to set captives free…..for he has a dad who will show him a clear example of nothing less.

Everything for God….
All for Jesus

New song lyrics "Mighty Warrior"

Braveheart sleeping
Waiting for the Day of Your Kingdom
Disobedient.....wasting time
Still dreaming of freedom

Well, I am awake now
I am awake now, yeah
I am awake
Now that I see Your Kingdom is inside of me

And nobody's gonna break me
Nobody's gonna take me down
Cuz the Devil is struck down by the sword in my mouth
And nobody's gonna break me
Nobody's gonna take my joy away
Cuz in You I'm an invincible, mighty warrior
For Life

Who's that boy?
Who's out there in that field with the giant?
What's he thinking?
Why is he as bold as a lion?

I am awake now
I am awake now, yeah
I am awake
Now that I see Your Kingdom is inside of me

And nobody's gonna break me
Nobody's gonna take me down
Cuz the Devil is struck down by the sword in my mouth
And nobody's gonna break me
Nobody's gonna take my joy away
Cuz in You I'm an invincible, mighty warrior
For Life

Who are you?
Who will deliver me from death?
Who has the keys to take away my chains?
The battle is the Lord's, and He is fighting for me
Life has overcome death and now I'm free
From all of me
And Death is history
For Life has slain a dragon for me, yeah
Life has slain the giant for me
And Death has lost its sting
For he who the Son sets free is free indeed

For the Lamb of God is the victor
The Lamb of God is the victor
The Lamb of God is the victor
And the Lamb of God has a crown of Life for me

What Glorifies God the Most

I was recently looking at a couple of my friends blogs when I came across one in particular that sparked a sermon in me. He wrote what he called his "spiritual autobiography," and what grabbed my attention was his burning questions concerning "how do best glorify God with my life?" and "I have my faith.......but I don't know exactly what I'm supposed to do with it." I sensed a brokenness and a desperation to know what was missing-----and mind you, this guy is a Christian. I know him to be very sincere and real, so I felt a wave of compassion fall over me for him. I also became really excited because I knew the answers he was looking for. I decided to sit down for about an hour and type this answer to the question, "what glorifies God the most? :

"you shall love."

I know, with absolute certainty, that the answer you are seeking for (and what everybody else on this planet is seeking for) is right there. It's simple enough for anyone to understand, and that is why, I believe, Jesus called it the greatest commandment. Anyone can do it. You don't have to be educated or rich. You don't have to be intelligent or talented or athletic. You don't have to have anything but you. Just you, and that's it. You can love anyone, at any time. .....think about this....

When your life is over, and the fruit of your life is presented to God-------what will matter? What will last? What did Jesus do that revealed what is most important to God?

Jesus was crucified, willingly. He was brutally killed-----and why? Because He loved you. Everything He did during his three years of ministry was in light of what he would do on His cross. And I called it His cross because it belonged to Him. He chose to take it, and He chose to die on it. And He died on it because He loved you. All of the healings, deliverances, dead-raisings, and other miracles He did were made possible by this same act of love: His death---- on His cross. This glorified God more than anything else could, and I'll tell you why.

---- you wrote this in your post:
"I knew that we were made for Gods glory, but how were we to do that? How are we to best glorify God in our lives? It is my belief that we can best glorify God by being as close to what he originally designed us to be, but what is that really?"

This is my reply:
The greatest way to glorify God is to take up my cross. Read this in Matthew 16:24...

" Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works."

His cross and my cross both symbolize and demonstrate the same thing: love.

And the reason why love glorifies God more than anything else is because "God is love."(1 John 4) God is "revealed" and "glorified" through my works of love. Notice that Jesus said "He will reward each according to his works." I asked you, in the beginning of this message, what will matter when the fruit of your life is shown before God-----and I boldly declare to you this:

.... it is the fruit of all those things which were done in LOVE. It is those things which were done when you denied yourself and took up your cross for someone else.

But what are those things? What are works of love?
The answers to these two questions are found in Jesus Christ, the Son of Man. I said, "the Son of Man," because this is what He called Himself. The reason? Because as a man, He would need to choose to love people, just like you do. As a man, He would need the Spirit of God to do miracles, just like you do. Because as a man, He could "do nothing of himself" (John 5:29) And the works He did....the "works of love" that He did.... as "the Son of Man" were marvelous.

He healed every sick person who came to Him for healing. He cast demons out of every oppressed person brought to Him. He cleansed lepers. He raised the dead. He preached the gospel of the Kingdom with authority wherever He went, saying " Repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand!" and then He demonstrated His authority by "healing all who were oppressed by the devil" (Acts 10:38).....as the Son of Man.

Now----- the reason I'm talking about these works Jesus did is because I believe God has created you and me to glorify Him in the same way the Son of Man did....."to do the works of God." (John 6:28) And Jesus said this Himself:

"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father." (John 14:12)
"And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son." (John 14:13)

I believe the Word of God is true. I believe it with all of my heart. and therefore------ I believe we glorify God the best when we love people.........the way Jesus did. And since His Spirit lives in us, he still loves people the same exact way as He did then, as it is written in our bibles. "For Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." (Heb 13:8)

Therefore, I conclude that His church, which is his body on earth, should do the same things He did while He walked on earth. In essence, He should be walking around on earth still----NOW----in us, as His current body. For He said, "the Kingdom of God is within you." (Luke 17:21)

Therefore, we should preach "this gospel of the Kingdom" (Matt 24:14) as He did, "heal every sickness and every disease among the people" (Matt 9:35) as He did, "cast out demons with a word" (Matt 8:16) as He did, "raise the dead" (Matt 10:8) as He did. I'm talking about a life full of power and authority in the Name of Jesus.

Paul said, "the Kingdom of God is not a matter of talk, but of power." (1 Cor 4:8) All of these acts of love were done with power..... and are encompassed by one statement Jesus made about Himself.
"for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost." (Luke 19:10)

This is the "fruit that will last!" (John 15:16) To seek and SAVE the lost. This is what will matter to God when the FRUIT of our life is presented before Him. He cares about people! They are the beautiful FRUIT that will last.....because a soul lasts for eternity.

And He loves us.

Our bodies will perish with our earthly accomplishments, and our riches will not go with us. "For what can a man give in exchange for his soul?" The soul of a human being is the "fruit that will last," and Jesus said he chose us and appointed us that we should bear "MUCH fruit." (John 15:16)
But none of this will happen if we will not obey His command to "Go"..... "preach the gospel".... "make disciples...." and, remember, "teaching them to observe everything I've commanded you." (Matt 28:18-20) His command is simple, if you're willing to hear it. He just wants us to love people.....like He does. "Not in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit...." (1 Thess 1:5)

You, as well as every other man or woman who calls his or herself a Christian, MUST take up your cross and deny yourself for the people around you.... for this glorifies God more than anything else. May God give me grace to love people today. :)

"You shall love...." (Mark 12:30-31)

Set my faith on fire

Recently, I went to fire up our Gas grill to cook some steaks. For some reason, the spark ignitor wasn't producing any sparks while I had the Gas released and open, and it wouldn't catch on fire. So, I went inside and got some matches to ignite it myself. After I struck the match against the matchbox and saw the small flame, I slowly brought it close to the inside of the grill and dropped it in.

Whooooosh!

A large flame jumped up and singed the hair on my head and my eyebrows (my hair didn't catch on fire thankfully). But needless to say.....my face and my hands felt a slight burn for the rest of the day.

I actually forgot about this until today as I listened to our Pastor preach. He preached on faith, and specifically....how faith requires action to remain alive.

As he spoke, the Lord reminded me of the gas grill incident, and I was inspired to write this:

"This match has the potential to catch on fire. It only needs to be in my hand and struck against a rough surface. When it's thrown into a flammable unseen gas....what was unseen explodes into a massive fire, and it remains a fire until all of the gas has been consumed.

The Lord commands me to obey Him. He tells me to strike my faith and ignite it even if the surface is rough and requires courageous, bold action to do so. He then tells me to throw this tiny match of faith into the hands of His Spirit, who is unseen, and yet He is the Kingdom of Heaven on earth within me. If I am to obey Him, then I must take ACTION.....which means I need to strike a match against a rough surface, no matter what the surface. The Lord wants a fire, but he needs me to produce an ignited match. So when I set this tiny faith I have on fire....I throw it into the Unseen Gas, and the Flame explodes beyond what I'm capable of doing on my own. His Spirit is uncontainable, endless, and capable of doing anything, and yet----the Flame will not explode without a lighted match.....and He chooses to wait on me to take action and use the one I've got. If I don't take ACTION and set my faith on fire, He'll never see the Flame it was supposed to produce, and for that matter, I won't either.

And so, I am left with this. I.... need to obey ....Him. And if I am to obey Him----first.....I'll have to strike this tiny match against a rough surface."

Prophetic Poem

This is a prophetic poem God gave me that holds tremendous significance not only for me personally, but also for those who would give their lives to Jesus as a result of my preaching.

One piece of wood---
It burned.
It burned like wildfire.
And then...
It burned a forest down.

" John answered, saying to all, “I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire."
--Luke 3:16

Jesus is perfect theology

Before I begin to write on this blog, I am compelled to give an exhortation....and this exhortation is to you, the reader, whoever you are. I can use the word "whoever" because what I have to say applies to believers and unbelievers alike. If you have ears to hear, then hear this:

"Give your life wholeheartedly to God and be forgiven of all your sins in Jesus' Name. Be ready to follow after him for every day of the rest of your life here on earth. Be willing to do whatever he tells you. Listen to His Voice speaking to your spirit....hear His commands written in His Word and obey Him. And when you are forgiven---do NOT set your mind on your sin any longer! Let your entire heart, mind, soul, and body be fully given in love toward God and your neighbor. You are NOT allowed to set your mind on earthly things below Heaven except when your intention is to allow Heaven to invade earth. The earth is the Lord's, but He created it for YOU! And now, if you will believe and obey, you have authority over it in His Name. God gives you authority only to do GOOD because He is 100 % good. So look at Jesus, see how he lived.....and Go and Do likewise.

Jesus is perfect theology."
